Reaction Does count even if the post get deleted.

Recommended Posts

I can not locate the topic other day someone was asking if the reaction gets deleted if a post get deleted. I can confirm that it does not.

I received few likes from a topic yesterday and today I discovered the topic was deleted. However looking at my reaction count I am pretty sure I have not lost any of the reaction.

So, I can confirm that reaction does not get deleted with the post when it gets deleted.

Good to know. I think it's logical to keep counting the reaction even though the post is deleted.

By the way, what was the topic all about? As far as I have observed, you are not a shit poster, in fact, you are a good contributor. If you share a little about deleted topic, we may have gotten some lights on moderation strictness.

It was about offering a service  (adult service) and once the OP posted it it was getting very hot topic. There were no NSFW contents thought.

The whole topic got deleted and with that all the replies as well. I will update with the OP's username.

I was trying to locate this thread before creating this topic. I knew it was there but couldn't just find it. Thanks for the link however it's useless now LOL

If we had the option to lock the topic then I would lock it.

Yes we dont have the lock option on the thread we make (for now)

The only thing to moderate it is to delete, but let it be. we just move on!

I think I have watched the thread as well. But why admin deleted it? It's okay to post service here. Certainly they are not doing anything here, lol.

There's no clarification from admin, I think they should come up with official rules.

have you report this post to moderator to lock it because you already have the same topic? If you do, I believe moderator will lock this topic. By the way, I didn't get your post, I have learned this info from here.

You mean an option for us to lock the thread. Well, that would certainly be a good idea and if I am correct I have mentioned it somewhere. It would also be helpful for moderators, they don't need to lock thread, we can ask to OP with logic that thread must be locked.

Yeah it was her and the service she was offering. Not sure why it was deleted but I did not find anything wrong with it.

Anyway, I am sure mods has clear instructions.

A thread of help or question which is answered is a good thing to lock/

There is no more reason to stay it open as there will be new Q to be made!

no i dont think so, because when the post got deleted then the reaction will also gone because every thing is related with the topic and if post gone reaction will also gone.

No reaction does not disappear and this is what I said in my OP. I think you missed to realize and ended up wrong conclusion 😊

Again, reaction does not get deleted if the posts get deleted.

I dont know even this is a good good or bad :)) but I actually like it in this way, one time I got a notification that someone reacted to your post and when I tried to open the post It was actually deleted and there was no such a topic

Well there are good an there are bad in my opinion.

Bad in this sense that - someone can abuse it very easily with alt accounts. Say they just make a garbage post using this main account and from the alt they react on that post and immediately they deleted the post from the main account. No one will know that it was reaction worthy or not since the post is not there anymore.

Good in a sense that - for a genuine member he may made a good post and got the reaction but the entire topic got deleted which means if his reaction get deleted with that which will not be very good. He spent a lot of time for that post to earn it.

unfortunately when a topic or post is deleted the same thing does not happen with the reactions or the count of posts that continue to result in the user summary

Well like I said it has good and bad side. For someone who genuinely got the reaction he should not get punished (losing his reaction) just because the topic got deleted.

For example:

Say the above post you made earned a reaction because someone found it very informative but for some reason the entire topic got deleted then it will be unfair to you to lose the reaction because your post will gone too in that case.

Yes. The reaction works exactly like the merits on bitcointalk. You can't lose your merit on bitcointalk even if the post gets deleted.

Yeah this point is correct but in merit system the sender cannot reverse it but in here the one who sent the reaction s/he can remove it if they want. So reactions are editable.

Merit has a log which is easy to see but in case of reaction there are not much tool.

Anyway, I got your idea that it's kinda similar.

Mine says I don’t have permission to access this content contact ... my post was about BTC halving in 2020 and had a many replies. I was just to reply to a few to my surprise I can’t access it.

I really have no idea what you are saying here?

Are you saying that you can not post in the halving post which I made because it got too many replies? It's only in May be you wanted to make another post before your 120 seconds cool down period to expire?

Wow. I never knew that and I feel that's bad for the person that received the reaction. Imagine if a user decides to remove his reactions from all of your posts 🤧.

I think the admin should work on this because reactions used to know how reputable a user is.

We have raised concern about it in some topics after seeing some misuse but not sure what the admin has in mind. It will be good to make it irreversible. However it has nothing to do with the rank so I do not think people will care much. But it still good to have it irreversible.
